Reshelving Collections—With air drying, items are dried by circulating air in a low-temperature, low-humidity space. A damp book can be interleaved with unprinted newsprint, paper towels, or Reemay® spunbonded polyester (shown here) to hasten drying. When preparing to return books to the shelf after rehabilitation, it is important to remember that water-damaged books can occupy up to a third more shelf space.
